WK Construction South Africa (Pty) Ltd. has a well established SHEQ integrated management system and strives continually to improve quality, environmental and safety performance.
We set out our principles on quality, environment, safety and health and communicate them to all employees. We regard good SHEQ practices as an integral part of being a successful business; it is of great importance to us that we care for the safety, health and well-being of our employees and others affected by our activities, minimize our impact on the environment and ensure quality for our customers.
At WKSA we believe that the key to employee productivity is to keep them motivated. Employees can remain motivated if they feel safe and happy at their workplace. It is only when the employees feel safe at work that they can invest the fullest of their capacities and will exploit the best of their potentials to work.
Our Managers demonstrate their concern for safety by interacting with employees and discussing safety issues. When managers pay attention to reports of mishaps and near misses, it sends out a message that safety in the workplace is important. The follow-up to the report is always positive and not punitive in nature.
